Amber

Amber is an object found on the beach or in the sea, that is often used for jewelry throughout the world. Apart from that, its most common usage, it's also used in Eroudin to warn you about the possible consequences of your actions. Often times, crime organizations will leave a piece of amber inside your house, to tell you that you're acting against the interests of the gangs, and that should you not stop this immediately, bad things will come your way, be they your death or deaths of close ones, or just forbidding everyone else to stop talking to you. It would obviously depend on the severity of your deed, and the ruthlessness of the man or woman you have wronged.

It has been used for centuries with this purpose, and sometimes even spread to adjacent cities. Not many in the nobility knows about the use of amber, but among the pleb, it's common knowledge. While children are nursed at their mother's breasts, they are told of the second and more common meaning of amber. You could wander down the streets of Eroudin, pull aside any one man or woman, and tell them that some amber has been placed in their house, and they will know what you talk of. You can then expect to see them run nervously yet quickly towards their house, to find their family, pack their things and immediately leave the city. Sometimes a more brave person will apologise to the crime organizations, stop doing the wrong thing, and make amends with the gangs, before continuing business and life as usual. And of course, obviously quite rarely, a brave, or stupid, person will continue their life, as if nothing has occurred. These people can of course no longer be found. No one ever wonders what happened to them.
