Common Customs, traditions and rituals

Weddings

Eshian wedding customs vary greatly depending on the tribe and region, but there are some common traditions that are often observed. One of the most important customs is the exchange of gifts between the bride and groom's families. The groom's family typically brings cattle, sheep, or other livestock as a gift to the bride's family, while the bride's family will often give the groom's family textiles, jewelry, or other valuable items.   Before the wedding, the bride undergoes a traditional cleansing ritual known as "gomoti". This involves a series of baths and massages using special oils and herbs to prepare her for the wedding ceremony. During the ceremony, the bride wears a traditional dress made from brightly coloured cloth, and her hair is often braided with beads and shells. The groom wears a simple tunic and trousers.   After the ceremony, there is usually a feast with traditional foods such as meat stews, flatbreads, and fermented milk. Dancing and music are also an important part of Eshian weddings, and guests often participate in traditional dances such as the "warrior dance" or the "snake dance".   Overall, Eshian wedding customs emphasize the importance of family and community and often involve elaborate rituals that have been passed down for generations.

Tattoos

Eshians have a rich tattoo culture that dates back centuries. Tattoos are an important part of their traditional customs, and they hold significant meanings for the wearers. Eshian tattoos are intricate and typically cover large portions of the body, with designs that are inspired by nature, animals, and mythical creatures. Tattoos in Eshian culture are seen as a way of expressing one's identity, personality, and beliefs. The tattoos are also believed to offer protection, and some Eshians get tattoos for spiritual or religious reasons. The process of getting a tattoo is seen as a rite of passage, and it is often accompanied by traditional rituals and ceremonies.   Eshian tattoo artists, known as "Inktressers," are highly skilled and respected members of the community. They use traditional methods such as tapping and hand poking to create the tattoos, and they often incorporate natural dyes and pigments made from plant materials.   There are different types of Eshian tattoos, each with its own meaning and symbolism. For example, tattoos of animals such as eagles, wolves, and bears are often associated with strength, courage, and loyalty. Tattoos of flowers and plants, on the other hand, are seen as symbols of growth, beauty, and harmony with nature.   Overall, Eshian tattoo culture is a vibrant and deeply meaningful aspect of their traditional customs. The tattoos serve as a powerful expression of identity, spirituality, and connection to the natural world.

Oathbreakers are sincerely detested by the Eshians, viewed as being weak at heart and mind.
