Mother
Whose child is that? I think I know
Their mother is quite sad though
It really is a tale of woe
I watch her weep and her tears grow
She gives her child a shake
And sobs until her tears make
The only other sound the break
Of distant waves and birds awake
The child lies in a heap
Her promises she could not keep
As for now she shall not sleep
She lies in bed while heavens weep
She rises from her bitter bed
With thoughts of sadness in her head
She idolizes being dead
Facing the day with ceasless dread
