Garden of the Ancients

The Garden of the Ancients is a large petrified forest; a flat land of sand and sparse vegetation. Eons ago the land was dominated by sequoia type trees but now all that remains are shattered pieces of the once great redwoods, petrified to stone. It is unknown whether this metamorphosis occurred as the result of geothermic activity or some arcane mishap (or a combination of the two) but the result is a barren land of striking beauty, a graveyard and monument to the once mighty vegetation that lorded over this region. Adding to the mystery and wonder of the "Garden", a number of giant bones can also be found jutting out of the red brown earth, slowly buried and excavated by the shifting sands. Many of these bones have reptilian or draconic features, although bones of gargantuan humanoid creatures can be found here as well.
The Garden of the Ancients also serves as one of the three migratory homes of the Cronavken Goliath Herd.

Fauna & Flora

Although water is scarce in the Garden, a number of desert dwelling animals make their home here.  In addition, herds of hearty antelope migrate from the Boundless Steppes to feast on the hearty grasses and flowers found here during the winter months, often giving birth to calves before returning to the Steppes.
