Dimitri of Wallaxia, The Great Mana Manipulator
Early Life
Born in the year 11,568 of The Era of Conquest, Dimitri of Wallaxia exhibited a knack for both Magic and Mana Manipulation from a very young age. Despite coming from a poor smithing family Dimitri managed to teach himself the Art of Runes, Magic Theory, and High Math by reportedly hiding in a box underneath a window of the local University classroom. He would then teach others what he learned for mear coppers, eventually making enough money for Magic lessons in which he turned around and taught to others for a fraction of the price to fund future lessons. By the time he had turned 30, he had reportedly attained an affinity of 25% in every school of magic. A feat never before reached at such a young age. It wasn't long before other kingdoms began to vie for his talent with offers of both riches and land. He would eventually take a small plot of land in the Kingdom of Fortuna (Modern-day Mila) for unlimited resources for experiments that pertain to his research. In exchange for this, the Kingdom of Fortuna received all copies of research for their own use.Solid and Liquid Mana Stones
While Dimitri is known for many things such as his contributions to the development of Rune Shorthand, a system of Rune writing that was more compact but did not sacrifice the power of regular Runes. He is more famous for the development of Mana Stones. Mana Stones allow for one to store mana for later use. With a Mana Stone, someone can both learn and cast magic that requires more Mana then the caster naturally has. This revolutionized the way people enchanted weapon and armor by allowing for more powerful enchantments that did not even require the user to use their own Mana in a battle to activate. Solid Mana Stones uses an existing stone to store Mana, Rose Quartz is one of the most used for its availability/storage capacity ratio. Other prized Solid Mana Stones are those made from precious stones such as Ruby, Sapphires, and Diamonds. Liquid Mana Stones are made from pure Mana compressed into a crystal form. These are rare and expensive as they can only be produced by Master Mana Manipulators and can take Months to finish even one. The upside to Liquid Mana Stones is that they can hold Mana Points in the thousands and will slowly recharge themselves on ambient Mana.Other Facts
Dimitri was known to be somewhat eccentric later in life and conducted research into a number of projects that he never finished such as Man-Made Dungeon Cores, Intelligent Homunculus, and even Omni-Magic. Some believe that Dimitri may have helped in the construction of The Inverted Tower of Umbra Hollow due to the stone it was built with having the ability to hold a vast amount of Mana to fuel its Runes. But this is disputed by most historians as they believe that the Architecture of the Tower does not match what was found in the Kingdom of Fortuna. It is believed that they simply put into practice many of the same techniques that Dimitri invented.
