Unitaur

Unitaurs are a race of centaurs that accel in magic. They are distinguished from their cousins by the spiraling horn protruding from their forehead.

Description

Appearance

Unitaurs are a close cousin of the centaurs in just about every way. They are half humanoid, half equine. Unlike the centaurs though, they have a much narrower and slender build. The fur and hair of their horse half is usually silver or white, giving them an almost ethereal and delicate look compared to the hearty centaurs. Their biggest difference is the spiraling horn coming from their foreheads.

History

Early history and supposed creation

It is said that the most powerful practitioners of magic amid the centaurs started developing horns and body phyisique more closely related to a unicorn than a centaur. Some believe it was centaurs and unicorns getting together, much like the creation of the first minotaur, but the Fey have happily never made it clear if this is true or not. One thing that is certain is that they are usually mysitcs for the Seelie Court since their introduction into the realm.

Society

Unitaurs and gentle and caring creatures. Much like the unicorn, they represent a purity that they live up to. They do not roam like their centaur cousins, instead remaining fairly hidden within other fey communities. Often, their curiosity brings them to the edges of smaller civilizations, as they cannot resist the call to aid those in need. They are usually in groups pof four or five, where ever they are, usually consisting of grandparents, parents and a child.
