Meira

The Seer Meira

Meira, a person wrapped in the legends of the distant past. Was she real? When was she born, and where? What was her childhood like? How did she die? Perhaps the stories about her are a collection of the deeds of many people. Perhaps she never even existed at all.   The most frequent of the tales say she lived at the time when the words of the Creator were being recorded. The Society of Namers claim her as their founder. Because so few actual facts exist about her, nearly anyone wanting to establish some legitimacy for their group may lay claim to her position or influence for their beginnings.   Meira was said to be one of the servants of the Creator, a scribe, a seer, and a prophetess. She performed miracles, spoke with the dead, and even raised the dead back to life. Legend claims she could not be killed, nor imprisoned against her will nor injured in any way. She could suffer no pain, except grief over the rebellion of the people against their Creator.   Stories persisted about her for several hundred years. People were said to have seen her, or been helped by her when there was no other help. Certainly many of these stories are mere fiction, or the assigning of a supernatural presence to something with a completely natural explanation. Like all stories of the past, the truth is distorted and may be lost completely.   Many artists have attempted to describe her in charcoal, tile, paints, stone and other media. No image exists of her from antiquity.

Holy Books & Codes

Meira is believed to be responsible for the writing of the Covenant, a book of the words and will of the Creator. She is said to have received these words directly from His mouth, and she wrote and preserved them for a future people who would have both lost the knowledge of Him, and would be prepared to once again know of Him.   This book is currently unknown and not even suspected to exist.
