Crusaders Court: A Guide for the Candidate

The Crusader’s Court...

can give you the answer that you seek: HONOR GLORY & GOLD. Honor is the highest personal ideal for aCourtsman. On the field of battle, a Courtsman should fight wholeheartedly and with dignity. All is fair in combat, but a combat requires both participants to be aware it is occurring. Of the field of battle, a Courtsman acts with respect to himself and those around him, especially his superiors. The independence of others must be accepted but not at the cost of your own. When a dispute arises, a Challenge may be issued, usually in the form of combat. The winner of the challenge stands in the right.

What to Expect

The Crusader’s Court is a religious order founded strongly in a military hierarchy. Power and experience provide a mean to extend individual will onto the world. Congregations of wills all seeking the same thing can shape the world around them. The highest goal of any religion should be to further it’s beliefs in the world and the Crusader’s Court is the pinnacle of religious coalition. New recruits join their peers in a season of training to ensure strength of order and capability of the individual. After graduation, the new Courtsman will be assigned into units of the general clergy to follow the orders of the Commander when necessary and to choose to accompany the unit leader in private pursuits. With increased rank through experience or education (another season of training), courtsman may head their own units if the followers can be obtained within the court. A unit may integrate nonclergyman for private matters.

Rising in the Clergy

All Courtsman are consider part of the clergy. However, rising in rank does little to do to increase your position in clerical matters without education and study. Through extended study and mentoring, a Courtsman may earn a title that signifies a course of specialization within the Court’s teachings. Each title:

Champion: The highly skilled warrior who seeks personal glory in combat. In a sea of soldiers, champions are the individuals that the clergy see as heroes and who the enemy wades around.

Strategist: The tactician and warrior who utilize his resources to win. We war for purpose, and therefore for politics. A strategist sees the beyond a single combat to the overall battle, war, and world it is in.

Medic: The combat medic and surgeon who braves combat to aid the fallen. In an order based in combat, the value of a life is respected moreso than other orders who see the purpose of the church to be in the next life.

Specialist: There are a number of other smaller titles. They are far rarer and specialized for certain intentions, but they do exist. Do not be afraid if you stumble across such an individual but be sure to respect them for what they have obtained.

If you show promise, a superior may approach you for one of the presented roles. You may also submit your name for consideration to the higher clergy. Upon review and possible testing, you may be accepted in as well!

Terminology

The individual clergymen of the Crusader’s Court are colloquially referred to as Crusaders or Courtsmen. In a formal setting and to superiors, the formula of address is such:
(Name) of the Court
After gaining ranks and titles: (Rank) (Title)_____________ of the Court
Ranks: Soldier(untitled), Lieutenant, Captain, Colonel, General, Commander(single person)

After reaching the Rank of Captain, an individual may create his own unit. A Colonel may assume he has the highest rank present until made aware otherwise. A challenge may be dismissed without question if more than one rank separates the individuals.
