Louisa Prescott's Journals

The seven journals were found by the Fractured Pack within a heavy trunk of the jungle shipwreck guarded by the strigoii Ripus. The journals were found with a stained, frayed, and crease damaged old jungle map with marked coordinates and a labeled location of the “Shrine of the Slumbering Nightmare”. Within each journal is the cursive name of Louisa Prescott written in covers. The earliest date found in the journals is Cascade, 993, and the latest New Growth, 1006.
The early journals act as dream journals and anxiety vents. The dreams involve nightmares of being locked away within oneself and puppeteered. Descriptions of courtrooms, obedient attention, and waiting to be told what to do. Frantic passages contain acts of screaming as hard as possible but mouth not opening. Eventually the nightmares start to adapt. They are no less horrific but push towards forcing these nightmares out of her and into the world.
Later journals are structured as daily planners and goals. The plans are as general as Eat, Go Outside, and Bathe with check marks next to them. More complicated entries include appointments with doctors, priests, and merchants. Eventually, the journals begin to be used to plan a small expedition phrased as a pilgrimage into a jungle.
