Myth - Dryk Agnum
There are whispers among the tribes of Nolan, whispers of those who were dead men walking. Perhaps they hadn't brought enough food, or enough water. Perhaps they stumbled into a nest with the wrong creature. Whatever the case, they were as good as dead. As they stumbled through the heat, or ran from a beast, they found themselves face to face with a Dryk Agnum, as if it could smell their desperation. Perhaps they were grateful for the merciless death that it promised, perhaps they, at the moment, came to terms with their inevitable demise. They collapsed, expecting never to open their eyes again. Yet, they did, with a half a corpse in front of them-food, and their water skins filled with the nutrient rich sap of the Tanyid cactus.
All this is to say, if you find yourself infront of an Agnum, lie down and wait for death, either it'll save you, or you're already dead.
Summary
Individuals who had no chance of survival, whether due to lack of supplies or under attack by a creature, found themselves saved by a Dryk Agnum.
Historical Basis
There have been three incidents of people claiming they had been saved by an Agnum. All three stories had a similar situation, the individual was basically dead, found themselves infront of an Agnum, and then promptly collapsed, only to wake up later, alive and with supplies.
Many argue that they hallucinated the Dryk Agnum, as, when interviewed, none had a very accurate description. After they collapsed, it was reasoned that, by happenstance, they were discovered by Natives, who saved them from the brink of death, and then left.

Spread
Widely believed by the people of Rahn, and most of the Natives of the Badlands have heard of the myth, though they do not often comment on whether they believe in it or not, simply stating that if you find yourself in a situation dire enough to warrant throwing yourself infront of an Agnum, you should not have been in the Badlands.
