Summary
The legends told of a great cataclysm that brought The temple-city of Yaz to ruins and even shattered a mountain by itself. Once was the High Warlock Mainyu-Dahaka , a powerful mesmer serpentfolk that was annointed grand wizard of the region by the king. Most of his researches revolved around the school on conjuring, and he was deemed so powerful that he even had managed to summon creatures from outside the realm of Arcamunda, and part of his heritage remains in the ancient akashic archives as a grand advancement toward magic and it's properties. Shortly after a lunar eclipse manifestation, he discovered the ramification of such astral placements that could improve greatly it's capacities. with the help of his most trusted assistants, and the workload of many enslaved species, he created a large chamber inside the mountain and beneath the palace of (). With, he was planning to bring forth a god of it's pantheon and harness its power to reach godhood among mortals. However, there was a double agent in the cult, a palua that was mimicking a deceased mesmer which heard of the High Warlock's plan. A fervent believer of another deity, he and his clergy planned to sabotage a part of the ritual to summon something different which would not be sealed and weakened by the ritual.
As the ritual arrived, the misalignment made a tear through time and space, but opened itself to a great beyond the stars, which Mainyu-Dahaka aligned on the highest source of power nearby, what he summoned was a (), a consumer of world. Despite all his efforts, he got annihilated him and his followers inside the antechamber, and the consumer commenced to spread out. The house () knowing this could imply an uncontrollable disaster, prepared a counter measure to redirect the portal's energy. When such happened, the mana around totally destroyed the underground city, collapsing on itself, stopping the ritual midway, which twarthed the entity's influence, but came at the price of many lives and a paragon of serpentfolk's glory. As the nearby villages noticed the cataclysm, they rebelled against the few remaining serpentfolks outside and freed themselves, most fleeing this cursed land.
To this day, most think the entity died or at least is dormant, as no manifest of it happened ever since. The ruined city, which can only be visited through extraordinary means, was deemed cursed and containing too many dangers to be deemed salvageable by the handful of adventurers that tried , and mostly failed, to find riches in many kinds. But some mentioned as if a malignant presence was there, and that some of their companion went directly insane on a whim. None ever dare go nearby the collapsed hole as the presence was too overwhelming for even the mightiest.

A select group of serpentfolks, the stone tongues, originated from a small group of survivors of the collapse of the city of Yaz. Adamant to learn about the mistakes of their brethren, they tried to gather as much remnants of the ritual and research memorabilia. the motives of some varied, but with some help and time, they managed to collect a handful of valuable related to the foul rituals. they tend proceeded to hire artists around the world, by money, coercion or magic, to fabricate art pieces that would hint at the horror that happened back in the day, and would share the knowledge to their new members over generations so this heritage is not lost, and that mistakes are not remade again. Most of the art pieces were made of engraved stoneworks or written on paper or stone.
