Gavel of Thyonaxes
The gavel that was once a badge of office for the appointed mayor of Thyonaxes - and an important symbol of Voxelian rule of law in the region - was lost in the city's destruction during a particularly dark chapter in the ongoing War of Reunification. This historic implement, known as the Gavel of Thyonaxes, would be a great morale booster for the Grand Army of Voxelia should it ever be successfully recovered from under the noses of the Coalition Defense Forces.
Manufacturing process
The shape, etchings, and inclusion of a Jester's Flail motif were all chosen by the creators of the hammer - smiths working alongside historians and other cultural scholars from the Voxelia College of Bards - to represent the New Voxelian culture's ideals for just governance. Aside from bulk metal ores collected from around the Blue Silk River, it is believed that the Council of Liars offered up a few small pieces from their own collections dating back to the Old Voxelian Conquest to give the gavel that much more spiritual portent.
History
The Gavel of Thyonaxes was forged in 1800 AX and presented to the then mayor of Thyonaxes during nation-wide celebrations commemorating the turn of the millenium. It was passed down through successive mayoral terms, the wooden grips and striking surface (see Materials & Components) changed out and enshrined in the local museum every ten terms as they wore down with use. During the sack of Thyonaxes, it is believed that the gavel followed the then-acting mayor down into one of the hidden executive bunkers. There, smoke inhalation killed the inhabitants while bombing overhead served to collapse the tunnels, entombing the gavel and its wielder.

Rarity
The Gavel of Thyonaxes was a unique and unusually robust symbol of authority that was designed to survive the test of time.
Raw materials & Components
The core of the Gavel of Thyonaxes was bronze hammer forged in one piece and with slots cut orthogonally into both striking faces. The sides of the hammerhead were etched with orisons to Selevati, the Unexpector goddess often associated with accountability. A brass Jester's Flail was socketed eyelets-first into the back slots and secured with pins, while carved hardwood cladding was secured around the hammerhead using the slots in the forward face as alignment guides. The handle was similarly clad in an ergonomic hardwood handle and was sometimes embellished with red cloth wrappings for improved grip.
