Jemos (yay-mos)

"The Cause of Ignorance Is Fear"

Jemos was founded by a group of humans and elves called Per Archetypis. They were lead by a woman named Risa Durustaran. She is said to have been told by Dionysus himself where to found the city of Durunum. Jemos is located on the wet side of the Lapihortus Mountains, and, as such, it has some of the most fertile land around. Since the place's founding, elves have used magic to enhance the crops that the farmers put down, leading to a major surplus of food year after year. This spurred a golden age in the nation where arts and sciences have flourished among the quickly growing elite class. Because of it's importance to the economy, magic is something all Jemosii prize, and those who are skilled in magic are able to quickly rise in society. Granted they know the right people, of course.

Jemos is home to thick forests. Many creatures, including Tieflings, Woodelves, Tabaxi, Gnomes, Humans, and monsters, can all be found there. Further south of these forests is the major city of Jemos, Durunum. It is the seat of government, and is home to a majority of Humans and Elves, though many types of creatures can still be found here. The current Princeps (ruler) of Jemos is Luma Oppides. She is an elf in her 223 year. The official language of Jemos is Common, and all official business is done in Common, however, a dialect of Common called Linguam Populi is becoming more and more popular.
