Gardinya Communal Garden
The Gardinya Communal Garden is the largest community garden in the city, set in between Northern Pine Ranch and Butterfly Garden neighborhood districts. It's surrounded by a 10-ft tall hedge wall that provides the garden's borders and has four lovely pine tree-carved arched gates at each of the compass points as entrances. As the largest, it grows the most variety of vegetables and fruits (all of the smaller gardens in the city will only grow about two or three different kinds of items, but all of those items in total are grown in the central gardinya communal garden).
Community gardens are very important in Gardinya Lyra because all of the food for the city is grown in them, and then cooked in communal kitchens (or people have the opportunity to harvest items for their own uses). All citizens are responsible for helping take care of the various community gardens all over the city, and this is not a responsibility that is shirked (and to be thought of by your community as not caring enough for the other people in it as to not care about the food supply is some of the most shameful things that can be thought about another person). Everyone knows how important keeping the gardens up is, the true lifeblood of the community.
The city's head gardener is Davi Beyers and he is responsible for overseeing the health and wellness of the gardens; making sure that everyone is taking care of the garden correctly, and providing any education that is needed about the garden.
