Oxidean Era
With the new bigger and better adapted photosynthetic cells, the oxygen level on the planet took off, leading to Margegos Oxygen Crisis. The event lead to the death of a great number of anaeroic Corticeans and their decendants, leaving only some of the younger species as well as the species along the volcanic ridges behing. It also led to a rapid cooling of the atmosphere, due to the masses of carbondioxide and carbonmonoxide used up by the early photosynthizers. The third major change was a rise in biomass, as the new environment led to a mass extinction of Corticean populations all around the world.
