Habade

Habade are a type of creature that resembles an arthropod but: have hair, have toothed muzzles, are endothermic, and are trainable, unlike many other bugs. There seems to be a vast number of forms and breeds, its believed they've been domesticated for some ages now. some suppose more, that they've been genengineered by long gone civilizations for companionship or useful function

The lifecycle of all habade begin as an egg ranging in size between 70 g to 35 g. This varies depending on breed, as does the rate of maturity, but unlike many arthropods, they have no larval stage, emerging fully formed as the miniature version of their adult form.

Habade bred for a number of traits, acute hearing, loud whistles, size. This has been going on for so long, and there are so many breeds of them with different habits, one might be forgiven in thinking many breeds are totally unrelated to others, but so many have been tailored to niche jobs throughout the stars.
