The Dark-Star
At the farthest end of Sanctum, this bazar celestial body marks the 0° on all the starcharts given by The Great Builder. It is universally accepted as the mark of Galactic North. The Star itself gives off no light, but does not seem to have the pull of a black hole. It seems to barely have any gravitational pull at all concerning starships, but the sensors of the few starships that have visited this distant star measure a pull gravitational pull dwarfing any other celestial body, it just doesn't seem to act on anything in the sensor range of the ships that visit it.
Surveying this system is incredibly hard because of two planet sized defensive platforms. These platforms give only two warnings, "You are entering a restricted section of space. By Order of the Builder turn around and do not return to this system." and "You have persisted in violating this secure zone, turn around immediately or deadly force will be applied. " are all anyone hears from these platforms, and they do not respond to outside communications at all, leading many to believe it is an automation rather than a person able to respond. If the two warnings are not heeded, the two platforms disperse a battlefleet of a size and scope beyond anything produced by any galactic contenders, once deployed they will destroy any ship remaining in the system. There is no report of a stealth ship ever being able to thwart the sensory array of these two platforms, and no fleet ever mustered to make the venture to the Dark-Star has returned from a confrontation with the fleet kept on the defensive platforms.
These platforms are reported to be spherical, cylindrical, octahedron, or icosahedron. Either they go through radical change frequently or there are more than a dozen and only two are ever seen in the system at a time. There are reports of such platforms making their way inward towards the Ishikell, perhaps returning to the Great Builder for repairs, upgrade, or maintenance.
