Inkwell
Inkwell is a small village off the coast of Halruaa on one of the islands in the Stormtails chain. Roughly 100 people live on the island, plus a contingent of priests of Ogmha known as The Binders, who inhabit a temple called The Spine.

The Bichs --- this family specializes in ink production. The members of this family divide the tasks of processing shells and mining lime which is used to produce a white ink .
The Chisholms --- this family specializes in paper production. The members of this family divide the tasks of collecting, drying, and pressing a black seaweed paper.
The Rowes - this family specializes in fishing, mostly dredging the harbor for shellfish.
The Briards - this family specializes in sheep and bee keeping.
History
Inkwell was founded in 782 DR after intensive research by St. Isidore the Incorruptible. His work proved that ink and paper could be derived from the sea. He convinced the Council of Elders in Halarahh to establish the settlement on the largest of the Storm Tail islands. Families and artisans were recruited to come to the stark wind swept isle.
The quality of the ink and paper proved superior for scroll enchant that the settlement grow and a temple to Oghma was established in a lime stone tower in the harbor called the Spine. Isidore led the priests of Oghma, who became known as the Binders. The brothers and sisters oversaw production on the island and continued to refine the process.
At times, the population of the island swelled to 1000 people and large ships visited the distant island bringing supplies and equipment. Over time the need for new construction diminished and the population has settled to 200 people dominated by four families.
Architecture
The buildings of Inkwell tend to be squat buildings made of limestone with slate roofs.
Geography
Secretary Island is a temperate maritime climate. The north side of the island has rolling wood covered hills and the southern side is flatter and deforested. A harbor on the west side provides access to the shell fish grounds.
