In the Universals, Masks was a game where a giant robot is smashing down Main Street. Your best friend tried to kiss you. Your mom thinks your grades need work. Your mentor thinks your team is bringing you down. Oh, and your costume is ripped. Just another day in Halcyon City... Masks: A New Generation is a superhero roleplaying game in which a team of young heroes fights villains, saves lives, and tries to figure out who they are—noble paragons? Dark avengers? Or regular kids? All against the backdrop of Halcyon City, the greatest city in the world. This Masks campaign will have a cast of characters that draws heavily from Sentinels of the Multiverse. Sentinels gives a collection of characters that are frequently expies of characters that my players will are familiar with through the comic book based movies that are now huge enough blockbusters that everybody has a shared lexicon. The Sentinels characters let me borrow these tropes without having to cleave to any of the storylines of the cinematic universe. White Sentinels has a sort of progression of story that can be cribbed if an adventure is needed in a hurry, just to assuage any concerns that any players familiar with this story may have: I have no plans on threatening Halcyon City with OblivAeon, or the characters directly related to OblivAeon like Progeny or Deadline. But then the Apocalypse Hunters formed. A hero team that was brought together because Strike had hopped through dimensions that were doomed to be destroyed, and now he's here, a the culmination of his journey, and this time it's not just this dimension being threatened - it's all of them. Yeah, that sounds exactly like OblivAeon.
