Arcturus Station
Capital of the Systems Alliance
Arcturus Station was originally constructed as a 5-kilometer diameter Stanford Torus-type space station, at the trailing Lagrange point (L5) of the gas giant Themis, in the Arcturus system. Construction on Arcturus Station began in 2151 CE and concluded in 2162 CE, utilising many metal-rich asteroids that remain nearby, housing transient populations. Arcturus Station was inaugurated in 2156 CE, and has served as the military and political headquarters of the Systems Alliance since the First Contact War.
It also houses the primary shipyards of Arcturus Heavy Engineering, the chief shipbuilder for the Alliance Navy.

Demographics
A majority of the station's inhabitants are human, though a few members of some Citadel species have taken permanent residence aboard the station, largely in ambassadorial or liaison capacities. There are a few permanently residing alien contractors aboard Arcturus, almost all of them specialized in fleet or starship maintenance and construction.
Government
The Systems Alliance Parliament and Courts reside in the station's core, governing the whole of humanity's representative body. A specialized detachment of the Alliance Marines, the 707th Arcturus Division, guards the station and provides the marine contingent for Arcturus' assigned defense fleet. Both uniformed and armored marines make up the 'law enforcement' of the station.
Defences
Aside from its defensive fleet, Alliance fleets come and go from Arcturus on their ways in and out of deployments.
The station itself bristles with mass accelerators of all kinds, Thanix cannons, point-defense arrays, and GARDIAN laser defense grids, as well as housing several fighter squadrons and gunship wings.
