Raloi
The raloi are an avian species originating on the planet Turvess, who made first contact with the asari in 2184 after launching their first space telescope and discovering the asari cruiser Azedes in their system.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Raloi possess an almost hunched posture, though are capable of standing to full height. Their legs are digit-grade, and their hands and feet are tipped with razor-sharp claws. Their beaks are likewise sharp, varying in size and shape depending on ancestry. The raloi also possess thick, fluffy patches of down-like feathers around their necks and on the tops of their heads, as well as along their forearms. The Raloi are known to be dextro-amino acid based lifeforms, just as the Turians and Quarians are, since they have a weak digestive system. Their blood matches that of Quarians, being purple in color. The males of the race are usually seen with broader shoulders and thicker muscles, their feathers are usually dull colors such as dark red, blue, grey, black and orange. The males also seem to be different from females with their eyes having a darker, orange color with pale pupils. The females of the species, however, seem to have brighter feathers such as white, yellow, green, purple, and pink, and have yellowish eyes with pure black pupils. They have wider hips than males, with slightly longer talons. The skeletal and muscular structure of the raloi gives them the distinct advantage of being the most agile sapient race on record, outpacing even Drell and Salarian assassins.
Genetics and Reproduction
Raloian physiology differs very little through genetics, though the color of feathers, and the shape and size of beaks has been known to vary somewhat.
Raloi have been noted to give birth to live young, instead of laying eggs like on would assume from an avian race. Eggs gestate for roughly 7 months before hatching.

Growth Rate & Stages
Raloi have been observed to have twice the lifespan of normal humans, around 300 years. The cause of this, however, is unknown, as the raloi possess a fairly average metabolism.
