The Treaty of Nilskri

"This is the first step on the long road to lasting peace. I pray only that we are strong enough to walk it."
The Treaty of Nilskri, sometimes called the Konelsva Treaty, is a treaty signed between the Crown of Buvostia and the Kingdom of Radinva in 496 L.E. which formalized the creation of the Konelsva Alliance, the longest lasting military alliance in Zinruna to date. The treaty is named after the city of Nilskri, the capital of Buvostia, where it was signed by the leaders of the two representative kingdoms.

Historical Details

Background

The Treaty of Nilskri was signed at the height of the popularity of the Konelsva, or 'rebirth,' movement that was popular in Radinvia and Buvostia at the time. The movement was started by the writings of the prominent Kosva pan-nationalist Torven Invarvi. The message of peaceful unification of the Kosva peoples proved attractive to the Radinvians and Buvostians, who had recently come out of a long and inconclusive war against each other.

Public Reaction

News of the treaty was meet with widespread celebration within the two signatory kingdoms whose population had grown tired of the seemingly pointless wars. Outside of the signatory kingdoms, the initial reaction was rather muted as few believed that the treaty would truly last.
