Wynkeel
"The Domi were able to raid so effectively because their ships did not obey the laws of the wind as they were understood at the time. This ancient innovation is still the backbone of the Demian navies."~A Brief History of KedizlimThe Wynkeel is a class of ship most commonly asscosiated with the Demians though the style was designed and widely used by their Domi forefathers and is used in limited capacity by other cultures as well. The ship is noteworthy for its ability to sail into the wind, which gives it an invaluable advantage in combat and raiding as it is able to strike from angles other ships could not. Modern variants are the core of the Demian navy and allow them to cross oceans faster and more safely than anyone else. Wynkeels are also notable for being one of the few Demain ship designs that is not intended to navigate major rivers, allowing them to be built far larger than most other ships in the navy.
Propulsion
Wynkeels are primarily driven by sails but some variants are outfitted with oars as well.
Armor and defense
Wynkeels are typically constructed from a strong and durable wood, such as oak, ash, or cherry. Some larger variants are also coated with metal plating along their broadsides though this is often more decorative and intimidating than practical simply due to the limitations on metallurgical technology.
