Next to the small farming village Pilbara of Bewboc, there is a lake, constantly shrouded in fog. The residents of the town speak tales of a monster that lied within the lake. Fishermen rarely go out into its waters, children are forbidden from playing in it, and even the animals of the region avoid it.
The lake is roughly 2 kilometers wide and 5 long, and sitting in the center of it is an island, solely populated by a long deceased tree. One day, a lone Fucoshi fell I'll in the village and stayed there for several days, where he got to speak to the villagers and learn their folk tales. Intrigued by the rumor of the beast named Agnathan, the hunter took a boat to the center of the lake. After parking the boat in it's pebbly shores, the hunter was attacked by a swift creature.
The creature was tall and lanky, with ghostly pale skin, pinkish eyes and a jawless mouth full of countless teeth. A bipedal lamprey what which had razor sharp claws adorned on its hands and a strong tail it used to attack any intruders.
After the sudden and quick blow by Agnathan, the Fucoshi grabbed a weapon and fought back, barely succeeding with their life. With the monster dead, the hunter began to explore the small island, where he found a small, crystalline object enscribed with an extinct language. Rushing back to the village, a linguist helped decipher the translations.
It read: this is the first key of 4 to unlock Fuca. Find the oldest one next. The Fucoshi had no idea what this meant, and despite their best efforts to keep the discovery hidden, word quickly spread. And while they continued their search for Fuca, every nation, kingdom, and wouldbe hunter on the planet did too, and the hunter found themselves hunted in the process.
