Evermist

Evermist is a moon in orbit around the gas giant Mellok. Shrouded in mists and fog, during the day the world seems a touch muted in color even though the mists part at sunrise. During the evenings, the fog and clouds are thicker, making visibility difficult at some times of the year for travel.

According to history, Evermist was colonized by explorers who were drawn to the moon because of the rich flora there. The plants and herbs were, and still are, have great use in medicines and healing magic. Over the centuries it also attracted necromancers of many shape and stripe.

Excessive use of dark magics permeated the world until necromantic creations and monstrosities, dubbed Killmares, would form on their own in the wilderness where the necromantic magics would sporadically collect. The mindless undead creatures would wander until destroyed.

The local animals likewise felt the effects of excessive necromantic magic, with many growing spontaneous abilities. These magical mutations were dubbed 'Grendels' by the locals. A name that has persisted well after the Final War cut off the Evermist colonies from their planets of origin.

It has only been recently that Evermist has been reached again via a portal from Illuria.
