Stella

Title(s): The First Pathfinder, The Eternal Traveler, The Shooting Star   Alignment: Neutral Good   Domains: Travel, Luck, Void, Liberation   Favored Weapon: Bow   Symbol: Shooting Star   Stella is one of the first deities created by the Forge Lords and the very first Star God. Her role was to scout out the primordial cosmos for the Forge Lords so they knew where it was safe to begin crafting the Mastracosm. Her role has changed and expanded since those early days, but she still enjoys exploring the world and discovering new places.

History

Early History

Stella is an ancient goddess, the first Star God, and a template for all other Star Gods that came after her. She is the seventh god that the Forge Lords created. Back in the days of the primordial cosmos, when the instability of reality made travel hazardous even for the gods, the Forge Lords made her go where other gods couldn’t and come back safely. As the Forge Lords constructed the universe around them, codifying the laws of the universe and laying down the foundation for the different planes, she was the first to explore all of them and observe their work, finding any imperfections or other strange discoveries. As her travels became more dangerous, the Forge Lords made a partner god for her called Sirius. He was another Star God meant to be her wayfinder and someone who could chart the paths she took so she knew how to get back home. They eventually grew close and became romantic partners. They have been together ever since.

The Revolution of Abbadon

Stella worked for Abbadon after the Forge Lords appointed him as Chief Architect. She was on the side of the creatives but grew disillusioned with Abbadon’s motives and his plans for creation. When war broke out, she fought for the fundamentalists as the scout and messenger for her fellow gods, playing a vital role in disrupting the plans of the creatives.   During Abbadon's return as an Infernal God, one of her apprentices betrayed her and became an infernal god. Throughout the war, she refrained from killing any gods as their death would be permanent. Hence, instead of killing her corrupted apprentice, she exiled them by trapping them behind the protective barrier that protected the cosmos from the cold beyond, changing them forever and turning them into the star of madness.

The Divine War

When Abbadon was defeated, Stella thought things would return to normal, but instead, it got worse, and she withdrew from the conflict at first because she didn’t want to fight anymore. Her husband convinced her she could help in other ways and turned her eyes to the mortals suffering as the gods fought. She worked with her husband to show mortals places safe from the warring gods and guide them through dangerous areas, warning them of traps and monsters. She would appear as a will-o-wisp and sometimes as a star pattern in the sky.

Appearance

Stella appears as a beautiful Gemini woman with long shiny white hair, skin the color of the night that twinkles with a transfixing pattern of constellations, and glowing blue eyes. She wears a robe made out of an ethereal cosmic fabric and a golden crown given to her by Sirius. Relationships   Stella has a maternal relationship with many gods due to being older than almost all of them. She used to be more carefree and capricious, known for doting on many gods and entertaining her friends with stories of her travels. She was also known to be a busybody among the gods and had little respect for privacy. The various conflicts between the gods and the loss she experienced hardened her into a more mature goddess that takes protecting the Mastracosm seriously and the mortals that live on it. She hates the abyssal gods and hunts for the star of madness.   She is also friends with the Fey Lords and is one of the few gods that understand their form of humor and can tolerate their fickleness.   While she has had offers from many suitors, she remains the wife of Sirius, and her love for him remains as bright as the stars in the sky.

Realm

Stella lives on the Celestial Plane in the Mercurial Lands, a special place where the geography of the land is constantly changing and is never the same.

Servants

Stella’s friendship with the Fey Lords has allowed her to command her host of fey that share her inquisitive nature and desire to help mortals. The fey that is her servants distinguishes themselves from their cousins by the star marks on their bodies and the starlight that swirls around them. They guide travelers through dangerous places and work as scouts for mortals and gods.

Worship of Stella

Mortals who travel across the world, by road, by sea, and even by air all spare a prayer to Stella. She is the goddess of travels and journeys and offers protection for all curious about the world and wants to see what it can offer. Those strong in their faith can sometimes stumble upon discoveries they would never expect or will randomly avoid danger through a stroke of luck.   The places of worship for Stella are on the road taken by Gemini and others of her faith, from small temples to simple shrines. The Starry Sky Inn in the Gemini homelands serves as Stella’s largest temple. It is a hub for travelers going to and from their destinations.
