Our Lady of Light
Lorinian, called the Shining Daughter of the Sun, the Mother of Elves, and the Conquering Peace. The spires of Dawnside glimmer day and night with the passing of her captivating light. When she descends the steps of the Cathedral of Light each morn men and women gather to bask in the ambrosial warmth of her presence. Though not an elf myself, I have yet found myself many times gathered with the onlookers there upon my visits to Dawnside, anxious to gaze upon her again. Able to settle disputes with the gentle light of her eyes, and incite to rapturous repentance with the touch of her hand even the wildest of criminals, Dawnside is a symbol of peace to all other cities in the world thanks to her tender influence. Her people are the elves, both high and deep. Unsurprisingly, Lorinian is the most popular subject of religious art from among her peers. The museums of her city burst with depictions of her copper skin and radiant hair. An early Valiannier (before his descent into self indulgent abstraction) depicts her rose gold curls cupping the loveliness of her body in... Her presence stilled any battle, her voice solved all disputes. Sunlight followed where she walked and the people of Dawnside, her favored city, delighted in the passing of her glowing shadow. Her virtues were love, gentleness, and peace. When darkness fell after Maverot's Starvation, Lorinian went mad with grief and sought to bring back the light with all her might. Pouring light and fire from the depths of her heart, she became an inferno that threatened to burn all of Maverot to ash. The other Selem-Vat contained her within her city of Dawnside where she burns still, along with the souls of the Elanni trapped there with her. Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Lorinian's formerly shapely body, rich in curves and soft in the aspects of motherhood, is now a withered husk roaring with fire and light. Her hair whips like wildfire and from her eyes - once full of love and gentleness - blistering heat and blinding radiance vaporize the darkness.
