Fetescan Humans
The people of Fetesca have long had a sense of self. Even during the Dark ages when there was no actual country of Fetesca, many of the common people of the area still identified themselves as Fetescans. The idea of the Fetescan mindset was pointed out by Delbin Redtrol, noted Fetescan Bard, "Fetesca is not a country of borders and laws, it is not a family or a dynasty, in fact it is not anything that we can smell or see or touch, Fetesca is the heart and soul of her people." The Fetescans as a group are very proud of their country. Almost every Fetescan is a patriot and this national pride can easily be seen as arrogance by some.

Civilization and Culture

Fetescan names tend to draw from English or Germanic naming conventions.
Common Dress Code
The common people of Fetesca usually dress practically. For men this is a pair of breeches and a chemise, a shirt that covers the body from the neck to the thigh or mid calf. Light Boots are also common. During the colder months cloaks or sur-coats are often worn. Women usually wear an ankle length skirt and a shirt. During colder months women augment this with cloaks or capes.
The Aristocracy of Fetesca takes great delight in keeping up with current fashion. Doublets and hose are common wear for the men and women wear elegant long flowing dresses. These are always of the current cut and color for the season. Brocaded Materials, silk with raised designs in gold or silver thread, are also very sought after by the aristocracy. The only oddity is that amongst the aristocracy, the color red is used only by the Royal Family and those that serve them directly.

Culture and Cultural Heritage
Fetescans very much enjoy music, and many noted bards have come from this region of the world. The music of Fetesca is split in style along two primary lines: religious music and common music.
Fetescan Religious music tends to be very involved. The pipe organ is a favorite instrument as is the piano. Fetescan hymns tend to be rather long and somber pieces. The music very much indicated the seriousness with which the Fetescan people take their gods.
Common music however tends to be very light and lively. Guitars and lyres are common and the music is usually danceable. The common music tends to be faster paced and a little harsher than elven music, but is still sought after in many taverns the world over.
Fetescan art is rather limited. The only art form that Fetescans are known for more than any other country is painted portraits. The art schools in Hosiana spend a great deal of time on the "truthfulness of the painting". It is said that the great master, Haliman Gorin, once painted a picture of Gregor Lyonsbane's wife and he was unable to tell the difference between the painting and his true wife standing still. While this may very well be a myth, the skills of the Fetescan Portrait Makers are well known the world over.
The most famous artist in the history of Fetesca was Haliman Gorin (772(BC)- 689 (BC) ) He became the official artist for the Fetescan Empire for most of his life. He was so popular and influential that bardic students of his adventured to recover potions of youthfulness to keep the master around. He started the Gorin Institute for the Arts that lasted until the time of the Chaos War in 1(AC). The institute has been restarted since the reign of Queen Ravenne. Gorin's style was characterized with subtle brushstrokes and an unbelievable intensity in the gaze of his subjects. Gorin was also a minor alchemist and devised many different ways to create paints from various natural substances. Most of the paints currently used on Meaghana got their start with Gorin's original formulas. There are only eight known works of Gorin's that have survived; six of which are in the custody of the crown of Fetesca and are considered National treasures. Of the other two, one is a picture of the first High Mage of the Academy of the Arcane, and is in their possession, and the other is a painting of the First Sovereign of Arakeen and is supposedly still within Arakeen’s control. Each of these paintings are valued at over 200,000 gold
