The Dark Elves are accepted into Talen'Seere
With the departure of Sepia as head
of the ruling council, a new leader for the
Elves of Talen’Seere had to be selected. This
selection processes face some difficulty,
however, as the Drow demanded a place on
the voting council now that they had accepted
their place in the city. While this was their
right as described in the city’s charter, the
high elves, grey elves and the summer court
were all in opposition to this, fearing that the
Drow sought to use their position to corrupt
the city.
The representative of the sea elves
abstained from the discussion still heavily
dishonored by his people’s actions during the
war, but the representatives of the
Daemernesti and the Yulmanesti stood with
the Dark Elves in support of their inclusion.
Both of the smaller sub-race’s representatives
feared the power of the High and Grey elves
if it were decided that they could choose to
exclude others from the gathering of
Talen’Seere.
Surprisingly, this stalemate was ended
by the Wood Elves, whose representative
Sylvianne Moonshadow, argue passionately
for the Drow declaring them to the be final
piece of the elvish soul needed to complete
Talen’Seere and prevent it from devolving
into the self-righteousness that lead to the
crimes of the Elvish Empire. This speech not
only won the Dark Elves a place in the
council, but was so impressive that Sylvianne
was named Speaker for the Council, and
began her century long term as a voice of
inclusion among the elven people.
She immediately declared the focus of
the council to be the rebuilding of what was
lost in the Great War, and put much of the
city’s wealth towards support and training for
those who were orphaned by the conflict.
