Expedition
The Elves of Talen'Seere must contend with Fae aggression.
In the Winter of year 156, a strange
plague started in Talen’Seere striking only the
Daemernesti. The sickness was incredibly fast
spreading and lethal. Hundreds of
Daemernesti were slain in the first month
alone, and neither the priests or the
physicians of the city were able to do
anything to abate it.
Almost instantly the priesthood of
Belandra was blamed and the Ruling Council
was inundated with calls to cast out the Drow
from the city to prevent the spread of the
disease. The Matron Council of the Drow
threatened war if the elves tried to drive the
Drow out of the city.
Talen’Seere stood at the edge of a
second sundering when the high elf physician,
Doctor Elria Greyleaf, suggested that the
symptoms of the disease bore striking
similarities to an ancient fairy plague. Doctor
Greyleaf reached out to the Drow priestess,
Velsha’ra of House Gelbar, who was an
expert in strange diseases to confirm.
Velsha’ra found merit in Doctor Greyleaf’s
hypothesis and suggested that they enter the
near dreaming to investigate.
The two gathered a full party of
adventurers, calling themselves the Seekers of
Illria (the elvish word for cures), to delve into
the dreaming to uncover the truth. During
their time in the Dreaming, the Seekers
discovered that the plague was the doing of
the Winter Court who wished to gain
vengeance for the slight of the Daemernesti
turning their backs on the power of the
Nightmare Rock.
The Seekers managed to locate the
Unseelie lord, Gelriasphian, who was the
creator of the plague. The resulting battle was
a thing of legend, and was immortalized in
several well-known bardic songs. The Seekers
succeeding in destroying Gelraisphian, and
returned to Talen’Seere with the cure. Once
the plague was broken, and it was proven
conclusively that the Belandrans were not
involved, the conflict boiling between the
elves within the city subsided.
