Military action
Childres and Stardale go to war.
Sir Darrien Martin managed to create a great deal of excitement in Childres after his return from Thorhampton-on-the-Hill. In a few short months, the Lord of Childres was convinced to put the army under the command of the Knights of the Hawk to set out for the lost city.
However, the people of Stardale were unsure of the wisdom of that excursion. They feared that if the battle was lost, which was likely, that the creatures of the mountains would sweep down into the lands of Stardale. The Lady of Stardale sent diplomats into Childres to convince the Lord to not embark, but the Lord Childres denied Stardale’s request.
As the army of Childres began to travel north, they found themselves confronted by the Knights of the Crown and the army of Stardale. The people of Stardale were willing to go to war rather than let Childres bring the wrath of horrible monsters upon the plains lands.
The resulting battle evolved into a drawn out war, lasting nearly two years. Many Knights gained glory and honor from the battle but the ultimate result was that Childres was prevented from bringing its entire army against Thorhampton. This war lead to distrust and quarrel between the two cities that, though lessened in the modern day, has not entirely disappeared.
