Marriage
Queen Lauren does political battle with the House of Lords to marry a foreigner.
In the year 69, the royal court
received a visit from Sir Andrew of Stardale, a
Knight of the Lance. The young queen was
instantly smitten by the noble young cavalier,
and declared that she would marry him. This
sent the House of Lords into an uproar; none
of the ancient families supported the idea of a
foreigner becoming the King of Fetesca.
But Queen Lauren could not refuse
the calling of her heart and fought diligently
to try and change the Lord’s minds to no
avail. After months of debate, an accord was
reached. Queen Lauren would be allowed to
marry Sir Andrew, only after she had given
birth to an heir fathered by a Fetescan
consort. After which time she would be free
to marry whom she chose with the
understanding that none of her later children
would have a place in the succession.
Queen Lauren chose Charles of
House Del Sol, a paladin of the Holy Union,
as her consort. In Liftery of year 70, she gave
birth to their son Kyle, and married Sir
Andrew a fortnight later.
Kyle was named the royal heir, and
then sent to live with his father and be trained
in the holy path of paladinhood.
