Fauzen
Fauzen (also known as Kitsune or Kenku) are spirit creatures that commonly take physical form like bipedal foxes or flightless avians, although some take forms similar looking to other animals. Inquisitive by nature, young Fauzen tend towards mischievous and callous acts, whereas mature Fauzen develop more benevolent personalities.
Fauzen are long lived beings and generally the greater number of tails one has indicates an older and more powerful Fauzen; in fact, some scholars believe that Fauzen will only begin to grow additional tails after it has lived a hundred years, but some Fauzen themselves claim tails may be obtained through great acts of daring and renown.
When a Fauzen obtains its ninth and final tail (generally after living for a thousand years), its fur or feathers turn white or gold in colour and they are greatly revered by their own kind. Such venerated beings tend to work in the employ of deities as emissaries and messengers or remain part of their courtly umbra. Fauzen are rather light footed w ith quick reflexes, but being partially spirit creatures, they are highly susceptible to effects that drain energy and vitality.
