Minotaurs

These seldom encountered creatures resemble bull human hybrids, Minotaurs are known most for their ferocity in battle and the abandoned ruins they tend to inhabit. These creatures have a heavily built body that is nearly covered from head to toe in thick shaggy fur, w ith a large bull like head. Minotaurs are often hunted by the brave and the foolish alike for their hide, as it is rumoured to be a powerful magical reagent; such rumours are partially untrue, for the hide of some Minotaurs lack this valuable property. To the astonishment of many, Minotaurs show a surprising aptitude in the principles of architecture and engineering, as well as the construction and operation of siege engines, which have scholars debating whether this knowledge is somehow related to the ruin s they are found dwelling in.

A few sages claim that Minotaurs are all that remains of an ancient race of titans, who were cursed by the gods for their hubris into their current form, where others state that the Minotaurs were in fact a punishment sent by the gods to destroy the civilization of the titans and now remain without purpose. Given the inherent difficulties in communicating with them, as well as their obstinate nature and violent tempers, many that have survived such investigations have opted to let sleeping Minotaurs lie.
