Autonomous Network

Due to bandwidth limitations and latencies in extreme long range transmissions, settlements far from others have networks entirely separated from the main UDSA Network structure, referred to as Autonomous Networks or ANs. Since they are by nature more local networks, they offer the guarantee of near-realtime latency across the entire network unlike larger scale networks.   Oftentimes, locations which do support connection to the primary UDSA Network still have a local AN with simplified connection tunneling capabilities to the Network, offering both the low latency of ANs and the wide interconnection of the Network.   Autonomous networks usually offer both access to stored information of various kinds, communication services, and access to entertainment including Virtuals.
