With sleek, midnight-blue fur covering their slender, serpentine body, Drifters are solitary, yet incredibly dangerous creatures found solely in the
Under Realm, where they feed on the elementary essences found in abundance, especially in the crystal labyrinths. They measure approximately 10 feet in length, tail included, and stand about 3 feet tall at the shoulder, their skin and fur hold the ability to absorb essences, magic included, and emanate them back in the form of dangerous radiation, which further emphasizes their solitary behaviour. The fur shimmers with a subtle magical glow, revealing an array of shifting colors in response to their emotional state or from which essences find themselves predominant in their surrounings.
They have incredibly long lifespans, if not illimited, given their survival is tied to the presence of the essences or magic, which they subsist entirely of.
Conservation Status
Drifters are considered creatures of the Old Times, when spirits and natural glades covered much of the mortal realm. Not only, the progressive decay of elementary essences contributes to the slow extinction of this species. They are considered very rare.

Drifters rank amongst the few creatures capable of harnessing elementary essences and catalysing them into magical phenoma, that is, spells. Yet, their skill is limited as most reports describe that drifters can only manifest elemental spells and illusions.
