Mournspawn

Found pretty much anywhere north of Umera and going as far as Kutsvatten, mournspawns are dark colored monsters that thrive in the cold weather, living mostly in forests and valleys, avoiding open areas and mountainous regions.
These creatures are named after the sound they emit when idle, which is similar to that of a low crying or eerie moaning as they wait for their next prey. Mournspawns are carnivorous and eat pretty much anything smaller than themselves, but seem to have a preference for warm blooded beings, humans amongst them.

Basic Information

Anatomy

They bear sharp claws and jaws that can tear flesh and break bones. However, their skin is quite thin and can be easily cut and lacerated.

Mournspawns are almost mindless, showing little signs of sapience.
