Eterra's Star
Significance:
Eterra's Star is unique in that it only becomes visible before harsh rainfall or snowstorms. The star is particularly important to Elurans because of their adventurous tendencies; without the star's appearance to warn of potentially fatal environmental conditions for those out in the wilds, it's possible that many would die. Appearance: Eterra's Star appears as a vibrant emerald light in the sky. Because it always precedes inclement weather, which usually cause the clouds surrounding the floating islands to billow up, it can be obscured at times. That being said, Eterra's star is extremely bright and can always be seen when it appears, even through dense clouds. When obscured, people on the surface of Melra have to actively look for the star, but on clear nights the land is bathed in an warm green glow. Cultural Significance: Many of Elura's citizens have a deep appreciation for Eterra's Star as it's hard to find anyone in the kingdom who hasn't benefited from it at some point in their lives. The citizens of Gwandrin, however, often look upon Eterra's star with a feeling of foreboding and displeasure as it's a sign of harsh weather that interrupts their more cushy lifestyles.

History
Eterra's Star was named after an explorer in an ancient Elurian legend. It is said that the adventurer Eterra, who was known for her ability to "feel" the weather, was climbing the World's Edge mountains when she felt a terrible numbness in her bones and almost plummeted to her doom. Eterra picked up a rock from the mountainside and cast a spell on it to transfer her innate ability from herself into the rock, and then she hurled it into the sky. This way Eterra wouldn't have to worry about her ability potentially endangering herself as she traveled again, and her ability would be shared with others.
