Welcome to Mercadia

The Kingdom of Mercadia is a thriving land of the coast of the Thassan Sea. It stands as a beacon of hope and light for all the world, with no darkness or evil creatures to be seen. It is ruled by the King of Mercadia and his councils from the high castle in Castemora . The townships are surrounded by deep forests to the west, mountains to the north, and an endless desert to the south. Mercadia has prospered since the Archangel Aurelia and her hosts defeated the agents of darkness 500 years ago. To pay homage to their saviors, the people of Mercadia founded the Church of Aurelia and follow its teachings. Temples to the gods are still found in the cities, but the majority of the populace prefer their saviors over the deities who sent them.
The Garden of Freyalise to the west of Mercadia is an ancient old-growth forest. All manner of beast and fey are found within, along with the nomadic elven clans. The Garden is protected by the Circle of Freyalise , comprised of the Archfey, Elvish Chieftain, Treant Lord, and Dryad Queen. The nomadic elven clans move between their ancient cities, following an edict from their first Chief.
To the north, the craggy peaks of the Slopes of Kalor house the ruins of the dwarven kingdoms. 500 years ago, when the Angels of Aurelia defeated the forces of evil, the dwarves were beset on two fronts- the hordes from the south, and the dragons from the north. The angels had no quarrel with the dragons, and so they left the dwarves to their fate. Intrepid adventurers from Mercadia travel to these ruins in search of treasure or the glory of defeating a dragon.
The endless Desert of Nezhat to the south is an endless wasteland, bereft of oases and life. Any attempts to explore this region have been met with relentless sandstorms and cursed luck. Following the coastline from Mercadia, adventurers fight typhoons and fog until they find the other side of the Garden of Freyalise that borders the desert.
