Bergwerk
In one sentence Bergwerk is Fantasy Russia.
In more words, Bergwerk is a nation on the continent of Osath. It spans the northern half, past the peaks of the Vulcan Weibercroft. Founded a century after the nation of Natdivida in approximately 100 PD (Post Discovery), Bergwerk has slowly expanded their nation across the Launau Glas glacier and the northernmost region of Meridian. The capital of Bergwerk is First City, a massive underground city.
Environment
The entirety of Bergwerk is built upon a glacier and permanently frost covered mountains. The early settlement of First City relied on their proximity to the ocean for food and water. Later, in 500 PD, a farm system was established which has continued to supply the population with food.Society
Demographics
The main demographics of Bergwerk include Orcs, Firbolgs, Dwarves, and Humans. This is in part by the human and elf-dominant state of Natdivida forcing the more natural denizens further and further away. In more recent years, following 1210 when the production of Levia was expedited by researchers from Natdivida, there have been an increasing number of races that have innate magical abilities. This can been seen with the increasing number of Tieflings, Giants, Eldarin, Tortles, etc.Politics
For as long as Bergwerkian history has been recorded, the leader has been @The Supreme. His is law is absolute. He is the leader of the military He is advised by a council called the @Captain's Triad. This is a group of three advisors encompassing the following domains:- Captain of Agriculture: Oversees the production of natural and human resources.
- Captain of Intelligence: Oversees the development of information both nationally and internationally
- Captain of Industry: Oversees the production of unnatural resources and infrstructure.
Military
The military only follows order from the Supreme or one of his Captains. As developed by Hetgi Kolokov 15 years ago, the overarching goal of the military is SEAD.Suppression of Enemy Advancement and Defenses (SEAD).The military was then divided to four divisions that keep with the goals of Bergwerk's internal structure.
- Skulker: Spies that were trained to infiltrate
- Enforcer: Those who were physically capable enough to wield magics and swords
- Auditor: Researchers who were going to develop the bergwerkian military to be the best in the world
- Doctor: Healers who were to act as military doctors and treat who the authorities told them to.
