  To our most esteemed comrade,

I am writing to you to report on recent events in the east and northern regions of our Republic.
Whilst this has only been possible due to Project Shackled Seer and its Farscopes, I humbly suggest that this does not change your judicious stance on the ever growing instances of witches and such aberrations. Without our proper screening and oversight, left unchecked these insidious witches and warlocks will only erode the stability of our proud nation and society, let alone your rightful role as Dezaria’s leader.
Before continuing, the result of the project detailed herein have yet to be confirmed in real, though I predict that your DezGra Spy Master will ultimately confirm these in due course.

Eastern Dezaria

The Phenomenon at the Rez Isle temple continues, despite a large assault led by Bal’Aur the Nameless on Kelemvor 24th. The half-orc’s rampant pillaging across the region has come to an end at this battle after being defeated by the defenders, helped by none other than the Goats - as well as Cabal Subject C, for which a separate report will be issued to you.
Gilles De Rais of the Goats was felled during the siege, but it appears his end may have prompted the (limited) resurrection of Cabal Subject C. There is no doubt in my mind that De Rais was used by Azuth to facilitate further empowerment of the emerging god’s power, thereby increasing the threat to our Republic and even Merra's other nations.
During this battle Eberond Il’Elaeren of the Goats showed his true form. The Farscope’s depiction of the creature nearly broke her initially, and it seems like a dangerous step closer to awakening Bhaal, the god of murder. The creature was faced by Cabal Subject C, who compelled it to flee.
Once the creature left the temple grounds, the Farscope attempted to follow whatever Il’Elaeren was now, but this ended in disaster as she was overcome by madness and murder-lust. Only after she savagely killing one of my attendants were able to overcome and terminate her.
Utilising another Farscope two weeks later, surveilling continued.
It appears the vampirical influence by Cabal Subject X (Xadaron / Steel Caller) over Bal’Aur has ceased and the half-orc rejoined the Goats. They left the temple and at time of writing, have just arrived at the orc-occupied Trg. Of note, the witch-suspect Primrose is accompanying them, and the Goats have new members, being a Tabaxi possibly from the Dark East and a Valorian veteran.
What the ultimate goal of the Goats is has yet to be revealed, but that two of their members have been directly involved with the return of slumbering gods cannot be ignored. The Project will continue surveilling their actions and I trust this meets with your approval.

Northern Dezaria

The Farscopes were only able to see Ozerksy from a distance – it appears the traitor clerics have defenses against our prying eyes. From what limited information the Arborians have given us and the circumstances at Ozerksy, it would appear Subject I (Ihra / Flame Mistress) leads the traitor faction who madly see her as the holy aspect of Helm, and not the vampire daughter of the Steel Caller that she really is.
We have seen scouts of the traitor Soulguard sent from Ozerksy to Hyemsfrey, most likely preparing an attack on the dwarven stronghold.
Following information from the Spy Master that one of the former Goats – Surina Myastan – was at Ozerksy prior to the insurrection, we have not seen her leave the city since.
As for the sky city of Hyemsfrey, its denizens appear mostly helpless as their home remains immobile. The Poor King appears sullen and indecisive. If loyal Tahir's claims are true and the Sky Key really is in being held in Ozerksy, I cannot imagine they will be able to hold off a serious attack by the traitor Soulguard faction.
In any case, such a scenario would deplete the ranks of traitors and remove the age old problem of the dwarven kingdom once and for all, but our enemy may then hold possession of a powerful floating fortress!
The Steel Caller’s exact location cannot be determined by the Farscopes – either his or his warlocks’ powers defend against this. The last sightings from months ago suggest the occupied fortress at Mt Dar, but could as well be within the horde advancing towards Ust. I hope the DezGra Spy Master has better luck determining this.

This concludes the report of eastern and norther Dezaria at this stage. Regular reports will follow as agreed.

As an aside, the Witch Hunters program continues to proceed in good pace. Further personnel have been recruited and training has yielded good results.

  Glory to the Republic!
