Bal'Aur is a young half orc, but the features of his orc parent are vastly more predominant and often gets confused for a full blooded orc. This fighter currently undertaking the Proving, whereby he seeks a worthy monster to defeat.
His nomadic clan of Orcs are the only one known to roam in the Republic of Dezaria, and differing from the other tribes in Deathsea and the Dark East, as they include humans, and thus include a number of half orcs.
The Aur Clan have somewhat integrated in the civilised world to an extent, and it isn't apparent that they treat non-orcs differently - indeed they perceive people on account of their strength and their actions.
Yet Bal'Aur, son of the clan chief, feels he needs to truly prove himself.
The Adventure Starts
In his search for a beast, he was staying temporarily with in the small village of Junstol with Kovac, a human miner and his blacksmith daughter, Mirabel. Kovac had a orc partner in the past and his daughter was a product of the relationship. The mother was part of the Aur Clan, and hence the connection with Bal'Aur.
He was at the Dog's Leg, pondering his next move, when a local barged into the tavern and approached a group of patrons seeking their help defeating what she claimed were monsters.
As these strangers started on their way to help the woman, Bal'Aur stepped up as well and told them he would join them.
Although the creatures were indeed fiends of a nature Bal'Aur had never come across or even heard of, they were small and ultimately pitiful. However it heralded more encounters of more fearsome creatures and the half-orc knew it would be a question of time before he found something worthy for his Proving.
Bal'Aur decided to get to know these strangers better, and they seemed to appreciate his combat prowess and intimidating presence, as it could loose toungues.

Although you are a half-orc, the orc genes are dominant. You will often get confused for a full orc by people of the world. However, orcs, goblins and other creatures very familiar with orcs know instantly that you are a half-breed. Against orcs, your Intimidation rolls instead receive a -2.+1 Intimidation against humans, tieflings, gnomes, halflings, half-elves, tabaxi and kobolds. -2 Intimidation against orcs.
