Thorin Goldhand

Thorin was born to the Goldhand clan and hailed from the Dwarven Kingdom of Kon Darum. The Goldhands, although a young and fledgling clan, are one of the most prominent clans of Kon Darum, due to their ties to King Stormbelt. Thorin's Grandfather, Grenmiir Goldhand, was a General in King Stormbelt's army, and they had fought together during the Orc's invasion of Kon Darum 210 years ago. In the climax of battle during the invasion, Grenmiir was granted divine powers by the god Helm, which he used to halt the orcs advance on Kon Darum. After the war, Grenmiir's clan grew in power and dedicated themselves to the protection of Kon Darum, and pledged themselves to the King, and most importantly to the god of guardians and protectors, Helm.
He was raised as a Helmite, and at a young age he was enthralled by the stories of his grandfather's victory, and of the righteousness of Helm's cause. As Thorin grew older, he devoted himself to training and to the studying of religious texts. Thorin went out of his way whenever he could to provide whatever aid he could give to his people. Although, Thorin wished he could do more, and asked his father for his permission to explore the world, so he could become someone that others could rely on, like his grandfather before him. Once his clan and his god deemed him worthy, he set off to the city of Moonbright, where a prestigious school for aspiring adventurers resided. There, Thorin hoped he would be given the opportunity to spread his faith, and to protect those who would call for his aid.
