This foul creature, looks nothing scary from a distance but if one adventurer is foolish enough to get too close it will lash out with its claws. If it fears that the adventurer might be strong enough it will let out its screech that leaves a ringing in your ears as a devoured spirit leaves its glowing belly from its mouth. The spirit will fly around to the closest body and reanimates it to serve the beast. Once the adventurer has been taken down their soul will be devoured.
They often appear around Graves but are rare.

Genetics and Reproduction

They breed by laying eggs in their reanimated corpse, as it starts to become useless.

Growth Rate & Stages

Hatch from an egg that's inside a corpse and eat the soil that's been keeping the body alive which protects the egg.
Then it leaves off to go eat more souls and once it has a zombie that's dying it can decide if it wants to lay an egg.
To lay an egg if is required to breed with another by receiving a soul from the other.

Ecology and Habitats

They live near corpses so mostly Graves or when plagues sweep the lands.
