Basic Information

Anatomy

On average, Elves stand between 5′4″‒6′0″ and weigh 130‒170 lb though there are many different subraces of Elves that stand and weight different amounts. Typically all types of elves are usually slender and althletic, though there is sometimes an exception to that. Elves have a similar range of complexions to humans, with wood elves typically coppery or pale skinned and high elves having rather light pigmentation. Often, elven hair is dark, either brown or black, with copper red or blond hair also found among wood elves, although orange or even green hues are not completely unheard of. Elven eyes are commonly brown, hazel, or an emerald green and typically are fair, beautiful, handsome, and have pointed ears with no body hair except eyebrows, eyelashes, and hair.

Biological Traits

Avariel
Avariel, also known as 'Wing Folk' are known to be the aerial elves and the only ones that have the ability to fly. Avariel are more delicate than their earth-bound cousins, with hollow bones to aid their flight. They have pale skin, often porcelain white with wings wings that are usually white, but can be black, brown or speckled though they typically dye their wing tips. Their eyes are slightly larger than normal and range in color from brilliant blues to green or purple while their hair color normally is a silver-white or black. Avariel are said to have the most beautiful voices of all the Orburn, and their songs are greatly sought after by bards of other races.
Drow
Drow Elves, also know as 'Dark Elves' are a dark-skinned sub-race of elves that predominantly lives in the Underdark. They are hated and feared due to their cruelty, though some non-evil and an even smaller number of good drow exist. In many ways, the Drow are similar to their Elf cousins, their bodies wiry and athletic while their faces are chiseled and attractive. Drow are shorter and thinner than other sub-races of elves. It is believed that females are generally bigger and stronger than males, but both sexes varied in height from 4 feet and 7 inches to 5 feet and 5 inches. Males weighed between 87 to 157 pounds while females are a bit lighter and weigh between 82 to 152 pounds. The skin of the drow is typically dark grey, jet-black or obsidian while their hair is typically worn down and decorated with pins and webbing. Drow hair can be stark white, pale yellow and, more rarely, silver or copper in color.
Eladrin
Eladrin, also known as 'High Elves' are a beautiful sub-race of elves that typically tend to use magic or become warriors. High elves are roughly of human height, standing from 5′5″‒6′1″ on average, but are lighter, weighing from 130 to 180 pounds. Even exceptionally strong high elves looked rather slim compared with other races, looking athletic rather than muscular. Most high elves are fair-skinned rather than dark and have black hair, with silvery, blond or copper hues common among them. High elven eyes are most commonly green with violet eyes also not unheard of, though rarer.
Aquatic
Aquatic Elves, also known as 'Sea Elves' are the water-breathing cousins to the typical land-dwelling elves. Aquatic Elves have deep green skin, mottled and striped with brown, though sometimes can have blue skin with white stripes and patches. Some other aquatic elves had pale silver-green skin though all are robust and tall with long limbs. Their thick skin gives them protection from the cold of deep water, keeping them comfortable at just above freezing temperatures. Their fingers and toes are generally about twice as long as a human's and have thick webbing between them. Their most distinctive feature are the gills visible in their necks and over their ribs. Compared to other elves, aquatic elves typically have deep voices and are much larger and heavier.
Wild
Wild Elves, also known as 'Wood Elves' are typically the ones that can be found deep in the lush forests and hiding between the shade of the trees. Wood elves are easily identifiable by their coppery skin and green, brown, or hazel eyes. Wood elven hair is usually black or brown, although hues such as blond or copper red are also found. They tend to dress in simple clothes, with a great number of earth tones that blend into their natural surroundings. Accustomed to a harsh, naturalistic lifestyle, wood elves love to wear leather armor, even when they are not under immediate threat. Wood elves are roughly identical to other elves in height and build, with males larger than females. They are often stronger than other Tel-quessir, including other elves, but are frequently less cerebral than the High Elves, who put a greater value on education.

Genetics and Reproduction

Inter-species Compatibility
Elves typically can conceive children with a large number of different creatures, making them one of the most fertile of races when it comes to inter-species intercourse. Of course magic can always change the outcome of something like this and can even make it where they can have children with more races than they already can. Without any interference of magic though, Elves can conceive with the following races other then their own:
Aasimar
Celestial
Centaur
Fey
Fiend
Firbolg
Genasi
Genie
Gnome
Half-Elf
Half-Orc
Human
Merfolk
Orc
Tabaxi
Tiefling
Gestation Period and Offspring Number
Due to their longer than typical lifespans, upon conceiving a child Elves typically have a long gestation period in comparison to the other Races. Their gestation period is around 24 months long, though due to their similarities to humans, they usually only have one child. Though just like humans, at rare types they can have twins.
Sexual Views
Elves are an alluring, sensual race that greatly benefits from their long lives where matters of sex are concerned. When one can live nearly a millennium, one tends to pick up quite a few tricks, particularly since elven culture is fairly permissive and lax about sexual adventures.

Growth Rate & Stages

Elves mature at roughly the same rate as humans, though they are not usually considered past adolescence until they reached 110 years of age. Unlike humans, elves do not age dramatically as their lifespan comes to a close, with the most obvious changes being a change in hair color, alternatively graying or darkening. Most elves remain healthy and full of life up until their death, which, if age-related, is usually between two and nine centuries.

Ecology and Habitats

For the most part, Elves of all types enjoy living within nature and staying in their own respective natural homes. Each sub-race of elf is different though and some live in all sorts of different areas within the land.
Avariel
Due to their wings, Avariel typically tend to stay in the high mountains or in the tops of trees. They can often be seen walking around the ground as well, though that is not how they typically travel. For the most part, they stay away from deserts and savannas as they don't like being unable to fly to high places if needed. Because of that, they tend to stay in the jungles, forest, and mountainous regions.
Drow
Being apart of the underdark, the Drow don't typically come out from their cave like homes. Very rarely will you see a Drow wondering around the surface but if you do, it is typically at night. Most Drow are considered to be evil due to their unwillingness to gather with the rest of the creatures of the land, and though a lot of the times the assumptions are correct, that isn't always the case.
Eladrin
Typically living in the highest regions of the world, the Eladrin tend to like living on the very tops of the mountains. Their affinity with nature help them survive and thrive in the cold tops of the mountains though they aren't afraid to move throughout the rest of the land and many can be found deep within the dragonborn land as well.
Aquatic
Much as their name would suggest, the Aquatic elves live in the oceans around Orburn, though some have found live in rivers to be what they prefer. Almost everywhere there is a water source, one could find signs of Aquatics Elves. They typically use the small rives and streams as a quick and easy way to go from one end of the country to another, sometimes leaving behind a few of their tail scales.
Wild
Out of all the types of elves, the Wild elves are the ones that are the most in tuned with nature. For the most part they can be found living within the jungle and the forests of the land. They are typically hard to spot unless they want to be found. Due to this, they are almost always unseen and none many know where they actually call home.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Despite some sub-race tradition, elves will typically eat meat but usually more towards fish or fowl, with meals including salmon, trout, pheasant or chicken, with a mixture of vegetables, fruit and a mulled fruit wine. Meals are generally more frequent then normal but in smaller proportions.

Additional Information

Social Structure

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Due to their more reclusive state of being, the elves aren't the owners of any part of land. However, they have gained position as council members throughout the Dragonborn kingdoms. Because of this, many elves live within the Kamamaji Empire, Honanbu Protectorate, and the Fjeve Kingdom. However they can also be found living within the Tribes of Erazin due to their love for nature.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Due to their natural wonder for nature, the Elves of all kinds have developed eyes that can see well in the dim and dark light. They have the ability to see in dim light as if it were bright light and allows them to see further then a human in the darkness. Thanks to this ability, it typically helps then in their individual endeavors.

Civilization and Culture

Naming Traditions

Upon becoming an adult, an elf selects an adult name, although those who knew him or her as a youngster might continue to use the child name. Each elf’s adult name is a unique creation, though it might reflect the names of respected individuals or other family members. Little distinction exists between male names and female names; the groupings here reflect only general tendencies. In addition, every elf bears a family name, typically a combination of other Elvish words. Some elves traveling among humans translate their family names into Common, but others retain the Elvish version.

History

After the  The Birth of Orburn, the Tel-quessir had fallen extinct, leaving only a few types of elves still living. Wanting to grant each sub-race their own little area, Chauntea placed the elves where they would best be fit, wanting to help them thrive and grow.
