Fika

It is time for fika!

"Fika? How to explain it... I guess you could call it an almost holy rite based on the belief that you get closer to others by grabbing a cup of coffee together. And yes, I appreciate it very much.
— A simple explanation about fika.

Important tradition

Fika is a simple yet very integral part of Concordian Culture. Most abide by it and the rest are often encouraged to join in the ritualistic event that is fika. Alternative names for it is either tea time or coffee break, and the rite itself might be less used in some Districts than others.
Despite the name it might take, this rite is more or less the same across the entire Varldstan. The same goes for those who live and work within the Concordian Valley.

Explanation

What exactly is fika? It is a serious ritual of socialization and relaxation, often done three to four times a day. No matter the profession one has, it appears everyone has time for fika, even if it is only once a day.
It is used to get to know people and hear about their day. Sometimes discussions will be held about a wide arrange of things, while they are enjoying the refreshments.

Components and Tools

Fika usually consists of either tea, juice, or coffee, complemented with either cookies, cinnamon buns, various pastries, or cakes. Sometimes, a simple sandwich will do, if one wants something meatier, so to speak.

History

Nobody is quite sure where the tradition of Fika originated . There is speculation of course and most would guess Svedia Guild to be the point of origin, as the tradition is followed most predominantly by its members. Beyond this, fika has also very old roots connected to Svedia Guild, possibly more so than any other society in the Varldstan.
However, Saint Svenskia denies wholeheartedly that this tradition originated from her guild, though she admits to being unaware of its origin.

It's always the simple things in life that make it worth living. This was a strangely relaxing read. :)
