Into the Void
A book void of warmth
Among the shattered, bloodied pieces of several Glimwings, lies a medium-sized book. It is bound in dark leather that looked worn out and was covered in a few drops of dried blood. The front showcased the title in exquisite letters written in what looked like melted silver.
You pick it up after giving your surroundings a quick glance. It feels cold at the touch and barely visible frost patterns cover the leather.
While inspecting it a bit more, you got a sudden sense of vertigo which caused you to nearly lose your balance. Shaking your head, the sensation vanishes quickly but leaves you feeling a bit dizzy and nauseated. The book's pages are as white as snow, covered in a faint frost pattern, obscured by the small text written with the same exquisite style as the book's title. Some pages showcase nothing but a grey nothingness, but something gives you the feeling that, should you stare at them long enough, something would become visible to you.
General
This Codex has quite an interesting history, one it shares with books of similar topics. It was supposedly a collaborated effort made by several groups and individuals within the Union of the Archive Association but few appear to remember ever working on it, either when it came to writing the content or researching for it, which many finds concerning. Several who are said to have been part of the project, have vanished without a trace, which has only increased the suspicion for the codex.
The whole codex took several decades to complete; some even speculate that it took centuries. When all was said and done, few copies were ever published. The vertigo and nausea that the book gave its readers soon became infamous and more than one was destroyed in fear. Rumors went about readers who had even been killed by reading its content and inspecting its strange images, but none were ever proven.
Now, the few ones that are left are kept behind lock and key by either collectors or scholars. A handful is said to still be in circulation and the first published example of the codex is said to be found somewhere in the Great Archive.

The content of Into the Void concern the Caverns of Void, as well as that which can be found within that realm of cold silence.
Glimwings
Glimwings are strange butterflies made from stained glass, that pulsate and glow with a steady light. They are mainly found within the Great Archive and can assemble to create warriors capable of cutting and slicing people in half.
The fact you keep making in-universe explanations for stuff in how you make the setting itself is something I've greatly enjoyed about your work, Leno. This book is no exception; good work as always.
Thank you, I am glad to hear it! ^-^ Things like this also help me get a better understand of how things are in my setting. Usually as least xd. And it is fun to write.
