Outvoid Displacement Fracture is an incredibly rare phenomenon that can both occur naturally as well as be artificially created. A link between our Existence and another is temporarily made, allowing for a displacement of matter and sound to occur.

Appearance

Those who have been witnessed only last for a few seconds, up to a few minutes at most. They reportedly make the surrounding area — such as the air itself, along with the ground and objects — appear like fractured translucent crystals with coal-black hues appearing and disappearing.

Displacement Event

A shockwave of white-silvery mist, that smells slightly of sulfur and vanilla, will be shot off from its center, one that dissipates after a few meters. As this happens, what stood in the place of the ODF will vanish like water vapors and be replaced with what possibly exists on the other point of the connection. Sometimes, it appears it connects with more than one location on the other end, though how and why is a mystery.

How and why?

Why and how they occur is one of the biggest mysteries within all of Vael'Eteria, and it is a rather frightening one at that. So far, the common man is not aware of the fact that they connect to other Existences, and it is something that has been ordered by Guardian Himself to keep the calm. It is also possible proof, some say, that Architect may still be out there somewhere.
