As you walk across a wide corridor somewhere in the Great Archive, you come across a crossroad. At the center of it is a pedestal where a thick, leather-bound tome is placed.
You pick it up. It is heavy and a strange, cold sensation goes down your spine. You also think you hear faint whispers around you, but no one is nearby.It is a leather-bound tome with the symbol of a pentagon on the front, dead in the center of its cover. It has two metallic key-latches on the side of it, covered in tiny symbols.
You move your hand across its surface and as your fingers touch the pentagon symbol, the key-latches suddenly clicks open.
The pages within are rough to the touch and slightly yellow in shade. The rims of the pages are colored black with tiny crimson dots placed at regular intervals. The text and illustrations are written with a beautiful and ocean-flowing script that produces clear-cut images in your mind.
General
The Sacred Arts of Alézun'Teran was a collaborated effort by the Union of the Archive Association and was the second literary work made by those involved. It was officially completed in 2230 in the Eighth Age and published by Enlightenment Publications in a limited number of volumes one year later.
The work of this book began shortly before the completion of the first book, Entities in Alézun'Teran. By all accounts, it was an easier endeavor than their first project but it still took about over a hundred years before those involved had all the necessary information gathered and fact-checked. It is also rumored to have been postponed by the Geist Cataclysm in order to see the events that would transpire after it.
It should be noted that a majority of the information regarding the Sacred Arts mainly concerns that which is accessible to mortals, due to the fact that a majority of the Sacred Arts - what they are and how they function - are well-known to the Higher Sphere.
The original copy of the book was placed in the Great Archive where it is accessible to all Visitors.
