Bard, King of Dale
Bard’s lineage was from the last Lord of Dale's direct descent. Girion's spouse and child had barely managed to flee Dale when the firedrake dragon was destroying it. He was most commonly known as the Bowman. He was also named as the First but was used in fewer times only. For a time he called Esgaroth upon the Long Lake his home, but he became famously known as "Dragon Slayer". He founded Dale's Kingdom and became the kingdom's first ruler.
In the year 2941, the dragon Smaug from Erebor laid siege in Esgaroth. Bard was the commander of the archers. He was ordering his people to shoot every arrow that they have. The commander himself was about to fire his remaining arrow when a small bird landed on Bard's shoulder. Since he was a direct descendant from Dale's race, he could understand the bird's words whispered in his ear. The little Thrush bird spoke of the firedrake dragon's vulnerable spot. When he had his chance, Bard used his heirloom, an arrow dark as night, and fired, he hit the vulnerable spot on the dragon's left side, the dragon instantly died, and his body fell on Esgaroth and destroyed it.
After the battle of the five armies, Bard set about restoring the damage to Laketown, as well as rebuilding the old city of Dale. He became Dale's King and worked hard to build healthy relationship with both the Dwarves of the Lonely Mountain and the Elves of Mirkwood. It was Bard who ordered summons be sent out across Middle-Earth for able adventurers to help in the rebuilding of a Northern Kingdom of men, many are his ambitions and he knows well that if his Kingdom and it's allies are to survive the return of the darkness then it must be both strong and prepared.
